Minimum System Requirements ​

To run macOS Monterey, your Mac needs to meet the following minimum system requirements:

  • Processor: Apple M1 chip or Intel processor
  • Memory: 4 GB of RAM (8 GB or more recommended)
  • Disk Space: 26 GB of available disk space
  • Graphics: Metal-capable graphics card (Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 or later, or NVIDIA GeForce 640M or later, or AMD Radeon HD 7950 or later)
  • Operating System: macOS Big Sur or later (for upgrade) or a blank disk for a clean install
  • Internet Connection: Required for some features

Compatible Mac Models ​

The following Mac models are compatible with macOS Monterey:

  • iMac: Late 2015 or later
  • MacBook: Early 2016 or later
